Maybe I shouldn't think about it.
So without thinking, she is super wonderful, with a elongated head, stitched onto an equally old body, BIG arms and hands, great old body and legs terminating with old nicely worn high button shoes. Still not thinking, her head has water color painted features on very fine old linen, her body is a twill and her arms and hands a little heavier linen fabric with stitch defined fingers and separate thumbs. She is stuffed very firmly with cotton. Her dress is a li...
Two antique bone thread winders one in the shape of a fish and the other with to concave ends. Both measure just shy of 1 1/2". These would be nice to add to a sewing collection. Mid to late 1800's.
Here are two very small Civil War dresses measuring just 20". They are all hand sewn, the fabric is wool and silk I think, and as fine and thin as tissue paper. It is amazing that even though the have been worn and have a couple little mends, they look almost new. The fabric is strong with no shredding or signs of wear. They look wonderful hanging. C. 1860's.
Two antique bunny rabbits, one is a paper mache candy container and the other is a fury rabbit with moveable arms and legs and a wire that may have attached him to a basket or it stabilizes her to stand. They both are a little under 5" tall and show their age a bit. They are both as cute as can be.

These are two linen homespun pillow cases that are beautifully made. They are embroidered with the name Emily Clark with a heart and the number 4. They are is excellent condition with just a little age related yellowing. The stitches are so tiny you can’t see them at the hemmed end. They are 15 ½” by 38”. Circa 1820-30
Here are two very nice paper doll dresses made with crepe paper and Dresden paper lace trim from the 1840's The 7" dress is exquisite with watercolor hand painted floral decoration. This dress has a partial unbleached paper backing that is all original. It has a slightly irregular hemline and a dark spot just above the hemline.
The smaller dress is 3 1/2" and has Dresden stars across the bodice. It has a paper back that is two fold to go over the paper dolls head. These two were in the same l...
A very nice antique black cloth doll with a wonderful embroidered face. She has knotted wool hair pulled through heavy foundation fabric. Her head is round and very hard, her chest is very firm also. Her hips are wide but cotton stuffed as well as her legs. She is very interesting and I can't exactly tell how she was made but I think she is all original and has stockinette and fabric combined in her making. Her dress doesn't come off. She is 17" tall, she sits easily. Her dress is very fragile w...
Early all hand sewn with tiny stitches black doll. The embroidered face is outstanding with the raised eyes, the pupils on a bed of white layered thread and her mouth is also done that same technique. For hair she has cotton floss thread sewn to her head and it is most effective. She has attached arms and legs so she sits easily. Her body is stuffed firmly with cotton. Over all she is in very good condition with only slight discoloration from age and use. She has on an age appropriate brown plai...
This doll is very beautiful with very delicate features. Her eyes are sewn on pieces of leather, one is only 3/4 there now. They are stitched on and her eyebrows are done with a cross stitch that is very effective. Her nose is raised and stitched and her mouth is a few stitches of red thread, probably more at one time. She had astrakhan hair but now all is left is the brown fabric with head scarf over it. She has a round full curvy body, jointed shoulders, hips and knees. She has on layers of u...
A very nice pair of antique hand knit blue and white cotton socks with a initials at the top. I think the initials are WWF. The stockings are knit with three different weight cotton yarn the heaviest is the wonderful true blue that is the foot and ankle where all the wear is and the area where you want the most cushioning. The lighter blue is medium weight and the white is the lightest where you don't want it to bind. The have been used but not abused. at the heel there is a little weakness but ...
This is a most unusual very appealing small doll very much the young lady, with a center seam face, applied ears and sewn on pelt hair. (Please look at the picture of the hair, I think it is deer pelt and is fashioned to look like arranged hair.) She has a drawn face with bead eyes. She is wearing a brown printed dress all hand sewn with a pocket on one side. She has on pantaloons, a slip, a petticoat, black socks and very worn leather doll shoes that are as early as she is. She is wearing the b...
So perky and bright with big round eyes and a smile to melt the heart, they don't come like this often. She has embroidered features including her eyes but then to embellish them further they added a bead in the middles and curtain rod rings to make the eyes complete. She has red dots for a nose and a big embroidered mouth with white teeth the whole length. Her wool yarn hair is is artfully sewn to her head in a zigzag pattern. I love how her head is squared off at the top. She is as found and c...
This terrific late 1800's hand sewn black doll is about as straight forward as you will find. The embroidered face is really nicely done with the stitched mouth slightly turned down. I think of him as a boy but it could easily be a girl. I bought this doll years ago and there were no clothes. I have tried this and that but I like it just as it is without clothes. I think this doll makes a statement without adornment. He is 16" tall and stuffed firmly with rags. He is circa 1890, all hand sewn ...

These lovely linen travel rolls were made and sold in Maine and NH by the Shakers. They are made with natural linen and have red trim. During the winters the sisters embroidered them . I have owned a few of them and they are all different but great. This is a travel roll-up and so pretty to look at. It is 22" by 12". It does have a hole on the front, see pictures. Circal 1890
This 13" needle sculpture painted black doll is so much nicer than most. Someone spent a lot of time hand sewing and painting her features. She has ears and yarn hair sewn on but spotty at this point. She has a curvy little stockinette body. Her homespun, (really homespun) butterscotch checked dress even has a pocket in it. She is cotton stuffed pretty firmly. Her hands have long thumbs and stitched defined fingers. She sits easily. I think it is possible that her dress is original. Over her dre...
This are small red boiled wool mittens, hand sewn and 3" long. They are from the 1890-1910. In very good condition and amazing they are still together.
Painted face black cloth doll ready for cooking the main meal of the day. She has a painted face, a bandana covering her head, red calico dress, black undies, and sewn on black boots. Covering the dress is a great old apron that is as soft a butter. When I squeeze her legs and body, they are really quite firm and feel like the are a mixture of cotton and something crunchy. She is really a down home girl, with fine looks and lives on the straight and narrow path that her life has taken her. She h...
Yes, I think college professor and by the looks of his hair, probably not married. He is all original and has his clothes sewn on, is C. 1890-1910 and 15" tall.
