Adorable folky homemade house bank with some bells and whistles. I smile every time I look at it. It is 5 1/2" by 5" by 6" tall. The little door opens. the railing in hand carved, the green checkerboard around the bottom of the front porch is hand carved little squares out of a solid piece of wood. Pencil face cloth doll is 21” tall, with a big lollipop head that can nod back and forth just a little. She has a firmly packed body with attached arms and continuous legs that do bend for sitting a lot over the years. It is a bit of a forced sit. She has a curved body in at the waist and would at the hips and chest. She has black sock and red boot shoes that have been sewn on and I think are original. She is wearing an antique pair of pantaloons with an antique dress that fits her very well. ...

This nice early little rag stuffed doll has an ink/pencil drawn face with a faint wavy hairline across the top of her forehead. Her body is all original and she is firmly stuffed with rags. Her outfit is age appropriate and I have lost her tag so I don't know about her clothes but they are age appropriate, I did add her hat. She is fully jointed and sits nicely. With a petite little body this wonderful little doll can fit almost anywhere. She is C.1880 and is 14" tall.

This work towel is made for use but is also very beautiful. I think it is linen one way and cotton the other way. (warp and weft). It has a feel and sheen of linen but also has the flat look of cotton. It is in very good condition, has the original loop for hanging it up, and is hemmed on both sides of the towel. This Dark blue and white towel is 11 1/2" by 16 1/2" with sides hand hemmed. It has a few light brown stains in two places. This is a great size for a table mat or as a guest towel. The pattern and color are pleasing to the eye. C.1840

This is a pair of linen homespun pillow cases that are more like show towels. The linen is very finely woven, the pulled thread work, borders the top and bottom of the name and date. The embroidered name and date is done in a wool floss and has not done as well with use as the body of the pillow case. Her name is Barbara Wismer, I think, and the date is 1829. This is a well washed and loved red calico doll quilt. It is mostly treadle machine stitched with some hand sewing. The backing is a brown and cream calico print with a brown calico boarder on both front and back. It is very soft, faded a couple of tiny holes that gives it that great old worn look. This is my kind of quilt, old and worn and I realize it is not for everyone. It is 16" square and is from the 1890's with a Pennsylvania verbal history. (I love it.)

Nice early blue and white cotton homespun handkerchief that has been used and loved and survived pretty well considering it is about 200 years old. It is a strong medium weight cotton with a nice sky blue dye giving nice contrast to the white. Two sides had overcast stitches but one side has lost the stitches giving it frayed appearance and the other two sides are hemmed. The initials are SGS. It has one tiny little discoloration spot. Very nice 16: by 16" calico doll quilt all hand sewn. Some of the calico fabrics are great. The back is a stripe that kind of looks like ticking but is a little hint of floral. There is a batting in between the front and the back and stitched together with diagonal lines. Condition is very good, I don't see anything other than some minor age related discoloring here and there. I had it on the top of an old red blanket chest and it looked wonderful. This is a wonderful wooden Native American doll with original clothing. He is pretty much untouched. He may have had a jacket or vest but I don't see any signs of that. His head is removeable but looks completely original. He is hand sewn clothes, has bead work around his sleeves but nowhere else. This cloth doll is reminiscent of the old days, 1970-80s, when I saw and bought a lot of faceless dolls and they were not all Amish. I think faces were not as important to all children or mothers as we may think they are nowadays. Her sweet little body is shapely, with jointed arms and legs. Funky old embroidered face, button eyed, black cloth doll. Antique cloth dolls feel old as well as looking old. The stuffing, whether it is rags or cotton, should feel compact, not spongy like polyester filling or with raw wool is should have a little give but not much snapback. Great big striking black cloth doll with an embroidered face, sewn by a pro. She has expressive eyebrows, big eyes, no nose, (that is one way to deal with hard to do noses), and a happy smiling mouth. She has very soft lustrous real pelt fur hair. I have owned this doll for 30 or more years and I never found the right clothes for him and I like his looks without clothes. When I took the pictures today of him I suddenly thought, maybe it is a her and not a him. I am not sure and I guess it doesn't matter, I still like the doll without clothes. She is all cleaned up and ready to take a walk. She has peaches and cream complexion to go with her auburn hair. Her body is firm and pretty much unyielding, no sitting around for her. The blue check dress fits her very nicely and age appropriate. She is in good condition with just one little hole on the side of her chin. The pictures make it look huge but that is because she is magnified by the camera. The hole is a 1/4" hole. She is from 1910-20's, is 12" tall and looks very sweet.

Wonderful and unusual leather black doll that is cuddly to hold. Even though she only has a blouse and skirt and pantaloons that are all sewn on, her body is stuffed with cotton with just the right amount to make her feel like there are layers and layers of clothes. This is a very interesting doll. Her body and head are one piece of solid wood, with a hole straight through the shoulder from side to side with arms pushed in an anchored on either side. The legs, I am not sure how they are attached and the pants over her legs are sewn on and have been for a long time, see stains from the wood on the white tightly woven pants, they feel very secure.
