This late 19th C. stockinette doll has a lollipop head with an embroidered face that is more an suggestion of a face than a hard drawn face. Her face is open and kindly, her body is some what soft and comforting to the touch. Her clothes fit really nicely and her pantaloons and petticoat match. She is as found and her clothes feel and look like they have been on her a long time. The back of her head looks like she might have had more stitches to look like hair but only has a few now. This doll i...

Naïve but nicely painted face doll with great red curls around her face. She is 21" tall and her body has a very broad chest that narrows into a smaller waist and hardly any flare to her hips. She is jointed at the shoulders and at the hips. She is very firmly packed with cotton. She has reinforced stitches at her neck below her chin and then stitches at the back of her neck also. She sits nicely and she knows that she is pretty. Circa 1890.

This is a wonderful antique boy cloth doll in his original dark green wool suit. A white shirt has been added underneath the jacket. He is cotton stuffed firmly but not rock hard. He bends a little for a half sitting position. His face is sepia ink drawn with nice detail. He also has ink drawn hair with ears at on both sides, the left ear being a little more distinct. He has a formed center seam face with a protruding nose and chin. His hands are wonderfully articulated. He has on long black sto...

A late 19th C cloth doll with a stitched face and big mitten hands. She is dressed as found in a blouse with cut off sleeves and a very pretty age appropriate brown calico skirt. she has on an antique petticoat and pantaloons and black socks covering her original feet. It looks like she had a face over this face but it isn't with her now. She had an eye missing so I put in to black pins. One pin over the original stitched eye and the other for the missing eye. I like everything about her. She is...

She is ready for afternoon tea, dressed in white and looking very demure. She is substantial in height and weight. She is very well made and every bit hand sewn. Her face is painted on the fabric and very nicely done. Her eyes are big and blue. She has hair that is pinned on and she has many layers of underclothes. She has on rather heavy stockings and white leather shoes. She has a mend in her forehead that is darned like you would a sock. It is sort of quaint. She has dainty stitched defined h...

Very nice poplar Shaker bonnet with a label marking the size as a 5. They were also made in size #6 and size #7. The bonnets were sold by the Shakers in their gift shops but they were not made by the Shakers. This one is in very good condition. It does have a few brown stains at the top of the brim edge, see photo. This is just about as good as you can get for this type of Shaker bonnet.

This wallpaper box in the shape of a man's stove pipe hat has a wonderful blue and mustard wallpaper with yellow brim trim. The hat box is all about looks! And the looks are from eye level up meaning that the top and the bottom of the hat box are long missing. I have used it with a print works cat sitting in it...see picture. (Sorry you have to find your own cat!) But if set on a shelf or on top of a cupboard you don't know anything is missing. As I said it has a great look. It is 8" by 11" wide...

A very nice Babyland Rag doll with a softly faded face that gives her a sweet baby face. She is 21" tall. I have taken a picture of most of her body but the very top and her arms are not accessible. Whoever put on her dress has lots of determination. The cuffs on the sleeves are so tight I can't get it off without cutting it off. The dress is a is cream colored very fine cotton with dark blue polka dots, (there is a tear on the upper sleeve on her left arm.) Under her dress she has an antique sl...

All hand sewn with brown calico fabric, is this very nice antique sewing roll. It is in excellent condition with four separate pockets. The fabric is pieced in areas proving the point of waste not want not. I don't believe this one was ever used. The individual pockets are all lined. It isn't often that you find such a utilitarian piece in such pristine condition. 14" long by 4 1/2" wide and circa 1830-40

Someone with a sense of humor gave this dear old flannel sheep blue floss eyes and brown eye lashes all the way around. She is big, 10" long including his tail and 6" tall even with her legs askew. Poor design or bad eating habits preventing her from standing on all fours. She has a great smile on her face and floppy ears with finishing stitches around the edges. She is a very sweet old gently played with late 19th C. toy lamb.

I can't believe a child could get these little antique gloves on, they are all hand sewn but so tiny and the fingers are so slim. They come ine the box they have been stored in for maybe 50 or 75years. They are out of an attic in the tiny town I live it. They have a few holes but no signs that anything went on in this box. The box is a candy box and in pencil in a young persons writing is, "My Christmas" . The box has a date of 1909. I think the gloves are earlier 1870-80. The box has a tear i...

Every now and then I come across a real homemade rag doll with all hand sewing, several layers of faces, wrapped upper body with a brown striped thin ticking fabric, (I am not sure why because she doesn't look as if anything is damaged) sewn on bloomers, great old socks and tan and red calico dress that fits perfectly and a tan quilted bonnet. She as two other layers under her linen face that may have faces but I have not tried to look, I like her the way she is. She stands 20" tall and sits wit...

Ruby is powerful looking with a wonderful shaped face and nose and chin. Her face is drawn with sepia ink. Her hair is also done with ink. The same ink and the same era in script is the name Ruby on the middle of her back. See picture. Her head is large and I have had a number of dolls with this shaped head both black and white cloth dolls. It makes me think that maybe this type of doll was shown in women's magazines in the 1880's with patterns and directions on how to make them. She has a very ...

A nice old small ditty/seed back made with a very early blue and white ticking material. This has always been a bag for some 180 to 200 years old it is not newly made from old fabric. It has age darkening that looks really nice. It is 5" wide by 6 1/2" tall and seems to have the original string tie. Circa early 1800's.
