This little doll antique pencil face doll is made out of wonderful homespun linen. She has a sturdy body that is not jointed but sits after years of being plunked down. She is dressed in a flannel brown skirt and a flannel top with a drawstring at the neck. She has pantaloons that button to the top. She has a color and a lace bonnet and little black leather shoes. She is circa 1890 and is 15" tall.

This big lollipop head black cloth doll with her sweet hand made dress and two buttons for eyes still manages to have a persona. She has a stuffed cotton body, jointed arms and legs, stitch defined fingers and large feet pointing left. (When I see that my mind thinks, she is signaling for a left turn.) Her red dress has little red trim around the bottom and around her neck. She is 19" tall but doesn't feel like a big doll. She is a funny little character, as found. Circa 1890-1900

This nice antique cloth doll has the eighteen hundreds straight red embroidered line for a mouth that allows her to have many or no emotions. She has two dots for a nose but the mother went the extra length to put stuffing under to give her a raised nose. She has really nicely embroidered eyes with little stitched eyelashes on the top lids. She has astrakhan trim hair that is firmly stitched on. I think red is her favorite color, it becomes her. She is 24" tall but she is slight in stature so she doesn't feel or look that big. She has a painted face with the best smile. She has astrakhan hair but it is missing on the top, I am surprised she isn't wearing a hat. She is made with sateen cotton and her nose is applied and looks like it has been recovered with floss. Believe me I wouldn't consider bothering her. Take a look at those eyebrows, mercy, this is a doll you might exhibit by herself. That said, a few friends might help soften her around the edges. This is a big blue/green heavy Amish doll, cotton and rag stuffed, solid doll with a "no no" face that I am sure came later. It is a naïve pencil or ink drawn face and has a nice look but her face was originally blank. Her body, head, and legs are all the same blue/green fabric but her arms are off white linen. They may or may not be original. Her dress is brown with a gray coverall apron and on her head is the traditional black bonnet. All the clothing is from the same era as she is 1890/1900....

Early cloth rag doll with drawn pencil face and mitten hands. She is firmly packed with cotton. She is wearing a very worn but nice blue plaid dress with velvet trim, pantaloons and black socks. This black cloth doll is packed solid with cotton, has a very nice embroidered face, astrakhan hair, and a blue calico dress with over skirt of red. Her arms and legs are continuous but all bend easily after years of being played with. She is 19" tall and is circa 1890.

This dear little doll has big pencil drawn eyes and triangle nose and an oval mouth. Her arms stand out to her sides making her look like she is spinning and twirling. Such a sweet heart with a very dainty stitched face in red and yellow thread. For such an early face it is a surprise to see that there is another one under this face. I would never remove it but it for some reason got recovered. Reminds me of a Christmas morning when I got just what I wanted, a Little LULU doll and was so thrilled. This very dear pensive blue ink drawn face doll is the quiet one. She is comforting and soft, her dress is a soft gray blue, her apron is old windowpane fabric with a touch of lace. Lovely old cloth doll stuffed with rags, really solid and heavy in possibly an original dress. She is completely jointed, nicely constructed, old petticoat and pantaloons. She has dainty pointed feet, stitched defined thumb and fingers and the back of her head is covered with brown fabric that also looks original. Just when I think I have seen it all along comes something different. This doll has a bottle for a body that has the shape of a flask. The bottle and her arms are a heavy twill with the arms having lots of mends. She has sock legs and a sewn on bonnet and embroidered face. She has been through a lot but she is very dear. I have had bottle doll doorstops but never a doll with a bottle body! She is 16" tall and is a real hoot. Circa 1900
