There are so many ways that women thought up on how to make a doll and give them the loveable look. This black cloth doll has that as well as a great folky look. She is stuffed with cotton and wool. She is bendable, the wool areas, and firm in the chest and head, the cotton areas. She has a simple face and it is framed by a crocheted bonnet with neck ruffle so I know it was made just for her. This doll has an oil painted face on fine linen cloth. Her face is lovely but her eyes are just looking over my head. I think she is lost in thought. Her body is shapely and she is stuffed firmly. Her arms and legs and jointed and she is all handsewn. She has mitten hands with lots of wear and black stockings with leather shoes that look original to her. This lovely black cloth doll is all original. Her face is embroidered, her clothing is early bandanas that are very lovely, I think they may be hand blocked and printed. She has black horsehair peeking out from under her head wrap. In her right hand she is holding, a gathered at the top, purse She is most unusual and very beautiful. She is 17" tall and is circa 1910-20.

I don't find many baby dolls and I have two today. This one has one tooth and I suspect the other is coming soon. She has a round firm body and arms that had hands now one does and it is a furry fringe. She is all original and has on a onesy. 12" tall and is C. 1910

A sweet little rag stuffed doll with a suggestion of a face. She has on aearly blue and white dress, not original but my guess it has been on her a long time. She is C. 1880-90 and 11" tall with the dress adding another inch or two.

Here she is spreading happiness. You can't look at her without at least a little smile. She is all original but in a played with condition by a gentle owner. Sewn inside the band of her bloomers is a little pink sachet bag so she would always smell sweet. (See picture.) How nice is that! There is a patch on one side of her neck. Her clothes are all sewn on and no question they are original, even her black oilcloth shoes and all handmade. She is 25" tall and circa 1920-30

This is a very nice 1830 milliner doll with a contoured anf paper-mache painted face. Her body is cloth and her arms and legs are wood. The spoon hands have defined thumbs. She has on a dress that had to have been made for her but maybe 50-100 years ago. It is all hand sewn and maybe it is early than I am saying. Not only is she happy, she also is a good cook. She is almost as wide as she is tall, has original clothes, great yarn hair, (see picture), embroidered face that is very well done. She is cotton stuffed, sits well and she is nice to hold. She is 18" tall and is circa 1910-20

This wonderful homespun horse with shoe button eyes, funny little ears a great curly mane and no rips or tears. The harness has had a rough time of it but I think it is amazing there is as much left as there is. He never had anything attached to his feet. He seems to be complete and sure is adorable. He is circa 1890-1910. 7" long and 5 1/2" tall.

This little bottle doll has a dear sweet up turned face that radiates sunshine. She is as found with an outfit that looks like she acquired it as life went on, piece by piece; very endearing. She is on her original sand weighted bottle. She is 12" tall and is circa early 1900's.

Yes, I think college professor and by the looks of his hair, probably not married. He is all original and has his clothes sewn on, is C. 1890-1910 and 15" tall.

These are two linen homespun pillow cases that are beautifully made. They are embroidered with the name Emily Clark with a heart and the number 4. They are is excellent condition with just a little age related yellowing. The stitches are so tiny you can’t see them at the hemmed end. They are 15 ½” by 38”. Circa 1820-30

This doll looks so much like a friend of mine from many years ago, her name was Tooty. This is a wonderful folk art bottle doll with a big straight smiling mouth, button eyes and one celluloid hanging earring. She is wearing a slip and over that a great black print apron that wraps under and around her head and ties in the back. It certainly is a thrown together look that appears to have been on her a long time. The apron so goes with her face. A one of a kind face for sure. She is on her original weighted glass bottle, is 14" tall and is circa 1920.

This antique cloth doll has look that she came from Pennsylvania. She has the one continuous swooping line for her nose. She has on a flannel dress that is also hand sewn. She is rag stuffed and quite heavy. She is plump with big arms and legs and feels and looks like she is all original. Her head moves back and forth a little but is not floppy. Just out of some play box over 199 years ago. 18" tall and circa 1880-90

This doll is a tough little cookie. She is heavy and round and firmly stuffed with rags and something else that add up to being heavy for her size. She has spindly arms, very sturdy legs with fabric boots sewn on. She is all stockinette. Her slip and panties are sewn on. What a great example of a folky big heavy homemade dog. His face is priceless, shoe button eyes sort of hanging there, a leather nose that dominates the lower half and no suggestion of a mouth. Somehow they eye doesn't notice that it is not there. He is made with a heavy wool twill that was mohair at one time. He has round wooden legs that have broken through the fabric at the top so now and then a little excelsior falls out. His ears are original but they look like he had a fight with a cat, ...

SALE The scarf is probably NH and is dated and also has an initial, Al. It is handwoven and is 38" on two sides and then 47" across the back. It is 1/2 of a square, triangle. It is in perfect condition. The colors are beige, brown, and tan. This is a museum-quality Shaker scarf.
