It is not often that I get a nice quilted pillow case never mind that it has brown and blue calico fabric. It is all hand sewn and the fabrics are 1870's. It is a size that fits regular bed pillow. I used a fairly large puffy pillow and it still worked well. There are a few penny sized spots that have started to fray a little but it would be fine on a guest bed or stuck in a comfy easy chair. It is 22" by 15". (Bed pillow doesn't come with it.)

This is a spectacular example of a poured wax over composition face doll. She is English or French or German but such a fine example with what probably is original clothes. She dates to the 1840-60's. She has a leather body, one knee is kinked but other than that I don't see any problems. She has her original blond wig, a great hat that came with her and looks like it could be original and the wonderful silk gown that is shredding a little but is mostly stable. I think her beauty and her clothin...

This boy is just the best! He is broad shouldered, strong thick body, jointed arms and legs, velvet black hair and killer eyes! He is in his original clothes and it takes a lot for me to feel that clothes on a doll are original but I feel strongly that these are. He has wonderful sewn on leather shoes. This is again the question that haunts me, how do shoes on antique dolls get so worn. Do they have a life we don't know about? How does one shoe get so worn it has a hole in the side and the botto...

This very dear pensive blue ink drawn face doll is the quiet one. She is comforting and soft, her dress is a soft gray blue, her apron is old windowpane fabric with a touch of lace. She has a nice old onesie on underneath. There is nothing spectacular about her she is just nice. Sometimes we could all use a little bit of nice. She is cotton stuffed has a hole in the toe of one foot other than that there is not much to know. She is hand sewn and even though she is not jointed she sits nicely. Ci...

A funny little flannel toy mouse, but some of my family think it is a rabbit. It does sort of have a tail like a rabbit but the face is a mouse! That said I guess it can be either and he is so cute I don't think it matters. He does have some wear and he is not quite as white as the pictures, he has a brown tint from age. He is 3" long and is circa 1900 and all hand made. P.S. Pot metal chamber stick small table top size $45 adorable on a little table or desk. Circa 1880

A very nice great blue Hannah Davis hat box with original label. The NH wallpaper lining the interior is dated 1836 and has articles about towns close by to Jaffrey NH where Hannah Davis lived and made her hat boxes from the 1820's to 1850's. This one is the best blue, has normal scuffing and has two areas that are missing some wallpaper but they are on just one side, see photos. The box is just 12 1/2" so it is a perfect size to be displayed anywhere. The label is on the inside lid of box cover...

This really nice old white and brown wallpaper box is 4" in diameter and is 2 3/4" tall. It has a brown and blue wallpaper on the lid. It is hand sewn and is sturdy box. It did have some paper beetles that liked the taste of the wallpaper glue. The are 100 years gone and a couple of holes would work to pull yarn or string through. It is circa 1840 and is very nice.

Wonderful tiny blue oval wallpaper box that is all hand sewn. The lid is plain aged cardboard and the sewing on the lid matches the sewing on the box so I think it is the original cover. This little box is just 3 1/2" across the top, it is 2 1/2" back to front and is almost 3" tall. Circa 1840 and very nice

This is a doll with a lot going for her and yet I have an unanswered question. She is all hand sewn, has big blue painted eyes, nose and mouth may be there if you stare long enough. Her body is all original but here is the question. Why is there a color change for no good reason on her lower face?a She is not telling! I have looked and looked and I don't know how or why it is like that. There are some very new stitches for stabilizing a small slit but no indication why to the left of that there ...

One of the nicest if not the nicest Shaker silk confetti table rug I have ever had. She Shakers called them "stick up rugs" for how the silk stands up. This one is in very good condition, has a strong multi covered design, and has a cloth floral backing that means it is probably from Sabbath Day Lake Maine or Canterbury NH. The edging is strong and bound tightly. I has later sewn on cloth tabs for hanging on a wall or as I used it, hanging on a door. It is 23" long and is 13" wide and is late 1...

Rubber head dolls are rare because the rubber didn't hold up well so many haven't survived. This one has a very beautiful face and does have some condition problems but they are not serious and her beauty shows through. She has big painted coal black eyes that are captivating. She is dressed in age appropriate clothes with the best brown calico two piece dress, and antique petticoat and pantaloons. Her clothing seems to have been washed and pressed so someone has really cared. Her dress has seve...

This doll tells a lot. She has many repairs, parts recovered, hand missing, brown ink stain on shoulder, calico blue button eyes over embroidered eyes, faded rosy cheeks, a metal or bone nose, very early great green wool shoes (slippers) with the best embroidered flowers ever!. She has two layers of socks, splits in her seams, brown wool fringe around her face that was probably covering the back of her head. Her shoulders are sloped in the nice early form. She isn't jointed but she does do a for...

This precious sepia ink drawn face doll is nicely drawn by a unschooled hand. The artist had trouble with her ink and pen and the results can be seen on her right eyebrow as well as her ear (with earring) and a big blob when drawing the hair. It makes me smile but I don't think the mother was smiling when she was drawing! The doll is jointed and packed fairly firmly with cotton. She has on a blouse, wool petticoat, striped skirt, wonderful early cape and brown calico bonnet. She has on early b...

This green glass eyed theorem cat is about as good as you can get. She has strong stripes, nice aging of the velvet, still has her ears and her tail and a bell around her neck. I am sure that was added later but it looks like it has been there a very long time. She is 6" long by 3 1/2" tall. Circa 1880

How often do you see a flame stitch mat? This one still has vibrant color. The foundation is a loomed homespun. It has a spider web fringe that is so fine and beautiful. I have taken pictures of the 3 areas of with condition problems. There are two small holes and one larger one. The fringe also is sparse in many areas around the mat. That said this is a rare form of flame stitch and is paper thin and very finely woven. It is mid 1700's and is 6" by 11".

Antique handmade round candle stick mat with and embroidered center. It has a nice finished cloth backing. The mat is similar to the tongue wool rugs. The colors are black, brown, tan with a yellow velvet rim and the embroider rose in the middle. It is lovely to look at and looks wonderful anywhere. It is in fine condition and has been in an attic for many years,I don't think it has ever been used. It is 5" in diameter and is circa 1830-50.

This strawberry pin cushion is old and nice. It has tiny red glass beads sewn all over it. There is some wear to the top layer of cream fabric but there is a more durable under layer there to protect it. This is not really bad in fact I have never noticed it until I took close up pictures of the pin cushion. The top of the strawberry is a fine old thin velvet in a dark green and is sewn on with very tiny stitches. I am not sure what it is stuffed with. It gives a little when I squeeze it as if i...

A very pretty wire basket full of 21 old emeries and a pincushion. (I dropped one so it isn't in the pictures but it will be in the basket.) They are all good some earlier than other but they are all old. When you figure the cost of $375 it puts the cost of the emeries at $17 each not ever counting the very nice early wire basket that has some old white paint left on it. The basket is 6 1/4" diameter and is 5" to the top of the handle. The basket is late 19th C. and the emeries are from the late...
