No clothes, great look, and I have kept her that way. (Scroll down to see history) Her little body was made with curves and plumpness. A little belly and a shapely derriere gives her so much more character, even her mitten hands have big thumbs. The sewing is done with big bold naïve stitches in a contrasting white thread on black stockinette. The hair is pieces of boiled wool and it really looks good in a sparce sort of way. Her eyes are black buttons, her nose and mouth are applied red wool trim. She is rather firmly stuffed with cotton and is jointed for easy sitting .She came with a tag saying she was found in Axton, Henry County, VA C. 1900 and was exhibited at the Blue Ridge Museum at Ferrum College, Ferrum Virginia. (She was exhibited without clothes.)
