This doll talks to me. She is big, stuffed with rags and has a face that makes me want to hug her. She has button eyes surrounded with embroidered stitches and stitched eyebrows that are the same early brown floss that makes her sewn on hair. She has on a blue cotton dress, a petticoat, pantaloons, socks and a blue checked apron with pocket. Her face is a little fragile around her mouth, with one hole on her cheek and one below her mouth both have material covering the two areas, see picture. Her body and head are all original with a two tone fabric as you can see in the pictures. This is a played with and loved black cloth doll, 31" tall and circa 1890
