What a doll, she is for real, heavy because she is stuffed with rags and I saw blue denim in one spot. Her face is the best, so original with embroidered eyes in a heavy gold floss, great black eyebrows and teeth to die for, two red dots for her nose and some red stitches around her teeth and I don't know if she had more red or this is just how she was made. She has sort of a fuzzy early thread for hair that is very sparse in places but if you were over hundred and 20 years old your hair might look the same. I know my hair is going in that direction!!!! She has a solid rag filled body, she is made with all black stockinette and it is double layered so the areas that have separated in a few places don't show. Her legs are black and she has sewn on pink socks and red wool shoes. Her hands are quite primitive with what I call lobster claw hands. She is wearing antique lace trimmed panties with a matching petticoat, a shear blouse and a very early printed silk and cotton skirt. She is so extraordinary and is as found from a collection in Pennsylvania. I find my self taking one more loo, just one more look. She is 18" tall and is circa 1890.
