The body on this doll is graphic enough to display without clothes. She is wearing a dress I have given her but the big apron, bonnet socks and booties came with her. She is from a large collection and some of the dolls go back 40 years since they have been out in the world market. She does a forced sit, is firmly stuffed with cotton, her hands are very beautifully sewn...see photo. This doll is dynamic. 20" tall circa 1880.
She has mends on either side of her face, actually, the repairs are fine darning and are so well done I had to look very closely to figure it out. They blend into her cheeks for the most part. One arm has reinforcing stitches and she is a split between her legs, caused by the construction giving way. It is stable and not a problem for the future, it is just there.
