I am telling my age but this doll would be the best at using the mangle. She has the shoulders of a football player and her arms are mightly long. (For all of you younger than I),
A mangle or wringer is a mechanical laundry aid consisting of two rollers in a sturdy frame, connected by cogs and, in its home version, powered by a hand crank or electricity. Wikipedia)
My mother had the electrical kind and my younger brother put his finger in it and peeled the skin off half his finger. It was fairly common accurrance in those days.
So this doll is funny and great with a charming pencil and ink drawn face. On her head is brown fabric and glue mixture that I guess was hair. She has a cotton filled body, arms and legs are continuous but she does do a forced sit from her knees down. She came with the clothes all on her and they are very nice. She is a sweet character doll that will make you smile. 21" and C. 1890
