This is a classic makeup mistake, not having natural light when you apply make up. I bet she even asked her husband how she looked and he said great!
So there you have it, she is a little over done but she seems perfectly happy. Now down to basics,
she has a very fine linen body and head. The paint is applied thickly all over her head but where the paint has worn you can see the linen cloth and the same paint on her hands. On her feet are fancy black socks and leather shoes that are original. She has on a pair of pantaloons and a green polished cotton dress with a silk plaid jacket. They fit her perfectly but I am sure they are not original but very nice. She is 16" tall and is circa 1880. She is quite the lady.
