Plain and simple with several layers of bonnets sewn on, and calico and scalloped fabric wrapped around her shoulders and a lace cape and a wool skirt with holes and then a really nice brown calico skirt. I have owned this doll for some time. She has a rag stuffed stump body and head. She is 8" bottom to top of stump and 10" with her skirt on. Her face is embroidered with a straight tight little mouth, stitched nose and eyes that are embroidered with a dark thread. Her inner bonnet is red and at some point got damp and so her hair line so to speak is red. She is a joy to look at and you know she looked just like this when she was housed in a shoe box for a bed. She is last quarter of the 1800's. Oh yes true to most stump dolls no arms as well as no legs.
