A wonderful fine homespun linen doll with watercolor/ink drawn features and blue eyes to die for. The drawing of her eyelashes is so tiny I needed a magnifying glass to see them. She is 14” tall, body is all original and firmly stuffed with cotton. Her legs are jointed, feet nicely formed, and her hands have stitched defined fingers. This cloth doll is 8", has continuous arms and legs, is firmly stuffed with cotton, her face has bead eyes and nose and a floss sewn mouth. Under the little plaid dress is a white petticoat. The hair on her head is fur and the shoes are little leather homemade wonders. She is petite and adorable. C. 1890 Condition, she has two little weak spots that the stuffing shows through on her chin.

A little fellow, wearing his favorite pants, made by Jackie Coogan Kid, with the label to prove it. They are adorable and so is he. The little striped shirt goes with the pants perfectly. He probably was made by the Mennonites. He has a sort of forced sit but standing is his preferred position. He has a little bit left of a pencil face. Very early black cloth doll with embroidered face, raised nose, wool fabric for hair, and dressed in original blue calico roller print pants, an early brown wool vest, (so great even though it has some damage), and the collar around his neck that is all that is left from his dress shirt. His arms maybe an early replacement. He is 14" tall and C. 1870. His face is mottled color but no damage to the fabric, maybe the early dyed fabric reacted to sun over the years.

This very early little doll is made with wool batten, (sed as filler in homemade quilts). Probably a scrap left over and in the rag bag. Her body, arms and legs are batten, and her head is sewn linen over a ball of wool batten. Her eyes are tiny beads held on with thread and her nose is raised and stitch defined. This is a sweet little pencil face doll, packed firmly with cotton, is jointed at the shoulders and hips. She has put-together-clothes. She has a very nice onesie, the a early petticoat and the a yellow calico blouse and a calico trimmed apron. She is play with condition, but the only real condition issue is that she is missing the end of one hand. She is circa 1880-90 and is 14" tall.

This is a very interesting doll. Her body and head are one piece of solid wood, with a hole straight through the shoulder from side to side with arms pushed in an anchored on either side. The legs, I am not sure how they are attached and the pants over her legs are sewn on and have been for a long time, see stains from the wood on the white tightly woven pants, they feel very secure. Wonderful and unusual leather black doll that is cuddly to hold. Even though she only has a blouse and skirt and pantaloons that are all sewn on, her body is stuffed with cotton with just the right amount to make her feel like there are layers and layers of clothes. This early cloth doll is beautifully made, all hand sewn, very firmly packed with cotton and maybe rags also, and is reinforced with a wooden stick so her head stable, no back and forth wobble. Funky old embroidered face, button eyed, black cloth doll. Antique cloth dolls feel old as well as looking old. The stuffing, whether it is rags or cotton, should feel compact, not spongy like polyester filling or with raw wool is should have a little give but not much snapback. This cloth doll is reminiscent of the old days, 1970-80s, when I saw and bought a lot of faceless dolls and they were not all Amish. I think faces were not as important to all children or mothers as we may think they are nowadays. Her sweet little body is shapely, with jointed arms and legs. This beautiful painted face doll with big almond shaped eyes, large protruding nose and tiny pursed lips with just a touch of pink, is a great example of a folk art naive cloth doll. Black painted hair is scalloped around her face and touches her cute applied ears. The paint is all original. She has some crazing and loss of paint on her head but it isn't flaking and not very visible from the front. Her forearms and hands are painted the same as her face. Little Miss Sunshine has a delicately painted face with eyes that look so good I could swear they were glass eyes until I touched them. The are an amber color with a bit of a twinkle. Her nose is a little horizontal line and her mouth is a little pink painted open mouth smile. Her body is continuous from head to toe and her arms are attached. This is a wonderful wooden Native American doll with original clothing. He is pretty much untouched. He may have had a jacket or vest but I don't see any signs of that. His head is removeable but looks completely original. He is hand sewn clothes, has bead work around his sleeves but nowhere else. Very nice 16: by 16" calico doll quilt all hand sewn. Some of the calico fabrics are great. The back is a stripe that kind of looks like ticking but is a little hint of floral. There is a batting in between the front and the back and stitched together with diagonal lines. Condition is very good, I don't see anything other than some minor age related discoloring here and there. I had it on the top of an old red blanket chest and it looked wonderful. This is a well washed and loved red calico doll quilt. It is mostly treadle machine stitched with some hand sewing. The backing is a brown and cream calico print with a brown calico boarder on both front and back. It is very soft, faded a couple of tiny holes that gives it that great old worn look. This is my kind of quilt, old and worn and I realize it is not for everyone. It is 16" square and is from the 1890's with a Pennsylvania verbal history. (I love it.)

This Dark blue and white towel is 11 1/2" by 16 1/2" with sides hand hemmed. It has a few light brown stains in two places. This is a great size for a table mat or as a guest towel. The pattern and color are pleasing to the eye. C.1840
