The construction and the hand sewing on this doll is amazing. The hands and feet have stitch defined fingers and toes. The features are drawn with watercolor paint. Her nose is a raised pinched nose and for that type of nose this is the best one I have seen. Her hair maybe be real or horse hair but it is lovely and hand sewn in place and then a someone has saved it with a very fine hair net around the bottom. She has got a little sweet turned down mouth that is a more set look and sad. I think s...

At least that is what I would think at first look. But, this doll is so cute from the back I felt like it should be shown as important. The front of her is adorable and funny. The face is very unique and done by someone that clearly didn't want to embroider fancy features. She used celluloid rings for hanging curtains to outline the eyes and the black centers are shoe buttons. They sort of float in position so sometimes her eyes are looking in two different directions. Her nose is a gem and has ...

This sweet little antique cloth doll is wearing black calico dress that might be original it fits her so well. She has embroidered eyes and a hint that she had an embroidered nose and probably a mouth. She has the great astrakhan hair that says she was made around 1890 and the dress is that era too. She has jointed arms and legs, is stuffed with cotton sort of medium firm. She is a very nice old but nicely cared for antique cloth doll. 10" tall.

This dear little black doll came right out of a house in Tennessee. She has the best thread hair, embroidered face, button eyes, pinched raised nose and lots of little and not so little mends on her face. She has a painted red mouth that can be seen if you look carefully, it is really faded. I have made the mends more visible by lightening the closeup picture but in regular light, they are hardly noticeable. She is firmly stuffed with cotton, jointed at the shoulders and legs. Her body is all or...

This rag stuffed black doll is from the early 1900s. Her face is two layers of stockinette with an embroidered mouth, pinched nose and button eyes. She has on and old print dress that has been on her a long time, a red wool petticoat, a knit undershirt that comes down to her knees, and knit pantaloons. She has what I call east west feet with brown knit socks sewn on. The stitching on the socks is such that they resemble laced up boots. She has a curvy hourglass shaped body that is packed full of...

This is a great Amish doll, earlier than most, with lots of loving wear. She wearing a green dress with a lighter green apron over it, and a gauze bonnet that probably was white and now is tan with some brown stains. She is rag stuffed, very firmly, and is a heavy doll for her size. You can't get much better than this. She is from Lancaster County Pennsylvania, 12" tall and from the early 1900's

SALE This is a wonderful doll cloak, I guess could be baby up to a year, and it is no moth holes, no tears, has a red and white lined bonnet. It has the original hook and eye at the neck. It was one slight stain on the bottom front left edge. It looks like someone with a little powder put their thumb down. It is a great Shaker doll cloak circa 1890

These lovely linen travel rolls were made and sold in Maine and NH by the Shakers. They are made with natural linen and have red trim. During the winters the sisters embroidered them . I have owned a few of them and they are all different but great. This is a travel roll-up and so pretty to look at. It is 22" by 12". It does have a hole on the front, see pictures. Circal 1890

How sweet and adorable is she! Red hair, red cheeks, body very firmly stuffed with cotton. Jointed shoulders, elbows, hips and knees so she sits easily. Her big eyes looking, slightly up, melt you the same way as when dog looks at you for a bite of your steak. The repair on her mouth looks like they put a band aid on and then took it off years later. She has a patch on her tummy and a small band around her neck everything else seems to be original. Her hair is yarn sew, each strand, into her sca...

Black dolls are harder than white dolls when deciding how to make a face show up on a black fabric. Often times the features are in red, or white but this face is done with a golden brown floss and it works very well on the black cloth background. She has yarn hair, stitched defined fingers and thumbs. Her arms and legs are fully jointed and mover freely. She has sewn on satin shoes that are the same golden brown as used on her face. She is 15" tall and is C 1910

Her hands are nicely carved, see picture. The wooden arms are attached with nails and move easily, her legs are continuous with her body and don't move. She is missing the front part of one foot, other than that she is in very good condition. A real down home woman, and I say woman with authority, she has a nicely carved chest. Circa 1...

This tiny black cloth doll has an embroidered mouth, very nicely done, bead eyes, white knots for her nose and fur hair. She is all hand sewn and stuffed rather firmly with cotton. She has on an adorable little chamise and over that a wonderful patriotic little dress with stars and stripes that fits her perfectly. One arm of the dress is fragile and there is one hole on the bodice. She is 8" tall and is circa 1890-1900, and just as cute as she can be.
