Under the great blue calico bonnet this doll has a worn and wrinkle face with a pencil dot for eyes and a pencil line for a mouth. Her nose has gone flat but the bonnet makes her look adorable. She is a homemade beauty, she sits like she has done yoga all her life. Her blue calico dress is voluminous and hides her rather average size body. She can almost do a split her legs go so far apart. She had a slip and undies under her dress and has black socks and brown shoes on. She looks so comfortable...

Baby is a big heavy plump doll, all original body and painted face. She has on a dress that fits perfectly but probably isn't original. Her face is worn a little but no damage, maybe it has darkened with age? I think she is the best baby. Nice defined fingers and separate thumbs. She has lost a lot of stuffing in her arms, I don't know how, and her legs have black stockings sewn on but everything feels right and original She is 20" tall and circa 1880

A very early pair of child's shoes hand sewn and pegged and nailed. The shoes are fragile but one is much better than the other. They are early enough that the soles are identical with no difference in right and left shoe. They are 6" long and 3 1/2" tall. circa 1830. These early shoes are hard to find and look wonderful with a textile collection.

Two pewter plates with old patina right out of a New Hampshire house. They are 8 1/4" across and one has a touch mark that I cannot make out. The other I don't see any mark. They have nice old patina. Circa 1820

A nice old small ditty/seed back made with a very early blue and white ticking material. This has always been a bag for some 180 to 200 years old it is not newly made from old fabric. It has age darkening that looks really nice. It is 5" wide by 6 1/2" tall and seems to have the original string tie. Circa early 1800's.

This is a very nice all original very small paint decorated box. It is all original and including the lock and key but the lock I think been disabled. The boards are thick for such a small box and the nails are also oversized for the box. It is the kind of thing that makes you smile. This is a box that was made with the supplies at hand! It is early and nice with very strong paint. There is a area on the bottom with a piece of wood partially missing and a couple of newer nails at the back of th...

Antique wooden doll, possibly was a bed wrench converted into a doll or a bed post doll. She is pine and primitively carved and from the early 1800's. She is wearing a later dress but still a 19th C. one. She has no arms and never did and might be the reason she was made into a doll. She has some holes on one leg, see picture but they don't look like worm holes to me they are more of a shallow hole. She is 14" tall, circa 1830 and a great early primitive doll.

Antique true linen homespun table mat in a deep indigo blue and a natural unbleached white. The mat is 12" square and has just the slightest age discoloration in one corner, see photos. This is a wonderful very early example. Circa 1830

The wooden doll fragment has some original paint. She is all one piece of wood even her tiny nose. She has a touch of original pink on both cheeks. She has some black paint on part of the back of her head that was her hair. She feels lovely to the touch. She is a real treasure. She is not quite 8" tall and is circa 1790-1820.

What could be better for the country or textile collector than a rare pair of homespun linen pockets outlined with dark brown thread. They are a little bit darker tan than the pictures. The stitches are tiny on all the seams and then as decoration she used a basting stitch that also was utilitarian in fortifying the seams. The shape is the nice older form with an elongated body with more curves. The later pockets more commonly shorter and wider in width with straighter sides. They have their or...

All hand pieced and quilted cut corner doll quilt. It has been professionally mounted. There is one spot more noticeable in the picture than in person. The quilt is 17" wide and 19" long. The frame is 19" by 21". This little amazing quilt is out of a local attic a number of years ago. I love hanging these dear doll quilts on fronts and backs of doors. (I have run out of wall space!) Circa 1840

This very nice hand-carved wooden doll and some original paint on the face and shoulders. She has a very round head, deep-set eyes and a nose carved and protruding but still out of the one piece of wood. Her legs were inset and pegged in place. Now she is a wonderful fragment 10" tall and mounted on a professional frame. (There are a few very old worm holes, please see close-up picture.) Circa 1800-1830.

The doll is 5 ½” to end of corn cob and another 1” to the end of the skirt. She has a sepia ink drawn face a brown (pate), the silk cap on the top of her head. Over that she has a hat with flowers. I put an elastic to hold it on. I have owned her for 30 or so years. She has a hair necklace that isn’t hair. I just looked at it with a magnifying glass and it is a cord or thread but I think it is original. I have always thought it was hair. Her silk dress is all melted. At some point, a ...

How often do you see a flame stitch mat? This one still has vibrant color. The foundation is a loomed homespun. It has a spider web fringe that is so fine and beautiful. I have taken pictures of the 3 areas of with condition problems. There are two small holes and one larger one. The fringe also is sparse in many areas around the mat. That said this is a rare form of flame stitch and is paper thin and very finely woven. It is mid 1700's and is 6" by 11".

This early little doll is all hand sewn, has three seams in the front to allow for a graceful small waist and larger chest and hips. Her arms end with the nicest delicate hands with tiny fingers and thumbs, see picture. She is softly stuffed with cotton giving her a nice feel with a little give when you hold her. She has a pencil drawn face that has faded but you can still see it, bead eyes and she is wearing a jaunty little hat. I hope no one tells her that she doesn't have any hair and I don't...

This is a sweet stockinette doll, stuffed with something very heavy but not packed really hard. Her face is nicely embroidered and with a raised nose. She is as found with a nice but worn dress, with a yellow sash around her waist. Her neck is a little wobbly but I wrapped it with a black tape around her neck and has made it much more stable. She sits nicely and has the nicest little face. 16" and circa 1890

This early beautiful papier mache pupil-less glass eye doll comes with her original box and possibly the undergarments are original also. Her face has some fine lines and a rub on her nose. I don't believe there is any in painting or touch up. Nothing shows with a black light. She had blue kidskin lower arms and hands. Her body and legs and upper arms are fine linen. She is missing her wig. The dress is an addition is old and all hand sewn and fits her perfectly. She is 15" tall. The box is 18 b...

This American wooden doll has original painted face and hair and over her shoulders and chest. She has subtle pink cheeks. soft red lip, black eyes, eyebrows and hair. Her nose has some rub loss but still protrudes. She is all one piece of wood top to bottom with a bittersweet paint at the very bottom of her legs representing shoes. She had cloth arms but there is nothing there now except a few very dark and old metal tacks that held the cloth in place. She came with the short period dress and I...
