Antique black boy doll with an embroidered face, applied nose and a tiny straight mouth and teeth you almost can't see. He has lots of floss and thread hair skillfully sewn on. His very firm body makes me think he as a core piece of wood with cotton around it. The rest of him is firmly packed cotton. He has a forced sit and both his arms and legs have tiny fingers and toes...see pictures. He has on his original shirt but his pants are a great old replacement. The stockinette on his face has some holes weakened over the years by the iron oxide used in manufacturing of the stockinette. There is a second black layer under so the holes are not as noticeable. He is 18" tall and is circa 1890
