Sometimes a little doll like this talks to you. She has a darling embroidered face with little stitches for eyes and mouth and teeth but then a simple triangle for a nose. She has a few holes in her face but mostly the first layer is still there. The black dye in the stockinette material has iron oxide that carrodes the fabric over time. It isn't because these dolls were disregarded, age alone does it and it is something that happens in a lot of these wonderful old dolls and they become part of who they are. I believe she is all original with an antique pantaloons, petticoat, dress and apron. On her head is her original kerchief. She is 11" tall and is circa 1920.
