I bought these two dolls separately and had then in different rooms and I suddenly thought the two dolls looked alike and sure enough, the do. The smaller more sophisticated doll has an oil painted face the other doll has a watercolor face. I think they each were copied from a picture of a Columbian painted face doll, what do you think? I like them together so I am offering them that way. If someone feels strongly I will split them if no one is interest like I am in the comparison of the two. Both dolls have original bodies and with white dresses and aprons, probably not original to either. The smaller doll is 16" and the taller is 20". The last pictures shows them sitting without a cushion under the smaller one. They are both jointed at the shoulders, hips and knees with the taller one also jointed at the elbow. They are both firmly stuffed with cotton. They are a very interesting pair. Circa 1890
