The fabric used to make this dress is just the best colors of brown and bittersweet. To add to the beauty the hem was let out to lengthen it and it so good looking it is too bad it doesn't show. The body of the dress looks and feels almost new, the arms on the other hand, are almost worn out. The left arm is so worn it is worn through. The little girl must have had a apron coverall over her dress every time she ever wore it...

This is a little 1890 hand sewn toy rabbit with a goodie of some kind between her paws. Her body is a wool flannel with cotton stuffing. Her eyes, nose and mouth are embroidered as are her paws. She is just 4" long and 2 1/2" tall and circa 1890-1900

This is a very nice egg wash chintz brown calico bag with a tan linen lining. It has a ribbon trim across the top and around the edges of the bag. The edges only have a little of the ribbon trim left, it has worn off over the years. The bag is in really good shape and is not fragile, it could be really used. Or great to use to store items while hanging off a hook or peg rack. 10" by 13" not including the straps. Circa 1870-80

This sweet little brown and red doll quilt is in exellent condition with just a little fraying on one edge...see close up. I like to see signs of age like this because it shows it really old. When fabric has been folded and washed and ironed the folds start breaking down the fabric, sometimes aging is a good thing. The quilt is 6" square and is backed with a double pink calico.

A very nice early heart shaped pin cushion made to hang from a hook or tied on to the side of a sewing basket. It is in fine condition with some pins still in it so it has been used. It is hand sewn and stuffed with cotton. The fabrics have wonderful saturated colors. It is 5" by 4" wide and 2" thick...see pictures. It is Circa 1870. The pincushions were common in New England and I have found this same shape made by the Shakers for their sewing boxes.

This is what I call a down home or servicable antique pot holder. It looks like a odd apple with a tummy sash. It is sewn nicely but with a childish feeling to it. I am sure it was used but care was taken with it. The loop at the top looks original. It is a very nice naive pot holder from the 1840's. It is 4" by 5". I love seeing these hung.

This dear miniature potholder was probably made as a study piece for a young girls schooling and given as a present to her mother or grandmother. It is a study of using wool and silk fabric together and still has the original bow and hanging ribbon. The red and blue homespun is very finely woven and the silk binding is very nicely sewn around the edges. It has a couple very small moth nibbles. The back is a very fine black wool fabric.

This is a hand sewn and hand quilted antique doll quilt circa 1850-60. It is random and naïve and very pleasing to the eye. It has been professionally mounted. I love hanging these doll quilts on fronts and backs of doors. (I have run out of wall space!) This one is 16" by 16" and mounted 18" by 18".

All hand pieced and quilted cut corner doll quilt. It has been professionally mounted. There is one spot more noticeable in the picture than in person. The quilt is 17" wide and 19" long. The frame is 19" by 21". This little amazing quilt is out of a local attic a number of years ago. I love hanging these dear doll quilts on fronts and backs of doors. (I have run out of wall space!) Circa 1840

What could be better for the country or textile collector than a rare pair of homespun linen pockets outlined with dark brown thread. They are a little bit darker tan than the pictures. The stitches are tiny on all the seams and then as decoration she used a basting stitch that also was utilitarian in fortifying the seams. The shape is the nice older form with an elongated body with more curves...

This wonderful little painted wooden bowl is special. It is painted with a creamy white paint that really aged and mellowed and could be original. The paint stops a 1/2" from the top. I don't know why. It looks like the rim is painted a different color paint when it is sitting on a shelf but no it is the aged wood showing...

This 19th C. flannel rabbit is the cutest thing. Her ears are unruly at times and look like a helicopter about to take off. She was pink and now is a yellow brown with a little bit grunge. He has one little mended hole in his back foot. He is 8 1/2" and 4" high at the highest point. C. 1890 and from Berks County PA.

This is butter stamp with deep carving in very nice shape. In the making there was a knot in the wood and it has made the edge a bit irregular. It is almost 3" across and the handle is 2 1/2" high. Circa 1840

This is one of the nicest drawstring seed bags that I have ever owned. It is a very tiny calico print in the best blue. It has the original drawstring and I always think that makes it nicer. There is a little darkening in a few areas but that is it. It is 5" by 6" and is treadle machine sewn. Circa 1880

This is quite the scrap book. The back and front are cloth covered in blue and white calico. The pages are also cloth with stitching around all the edges. The trade and advertising cards are glued down on both sides of the fabric. The pages are bound together by three holes and each page and tied with a yellow ribbon. There are 11 pages, 22 sides, and one 1/2 page that is original and not cut but just a 1/2 page with cards on both sides...

This adorable dog has the look we all know, I really need a cookie, really really need a cookie. How could you say no. He is made with the early short pile velvet. He has one seam on his chest that is a little weak. No holes or breaks. He has shoe button eyes and great puffy ears and a tail that says happiness. He is 7 1/2" tall and 7 1/2" long. He stands on his on when put in position but his back legs want to spread if he stays like that for hours. I am told he is Amish and from Indiana...
