This is a very heavy straw stuffed and maybe rag stuffed also Amish type dog. He is missing ears but apparently they were glued at one time with old fish glue and that still remains and gives the look of an ear. He stands nicely but his legs to bend a little under his heavy weight. He has two tiny holes and discoloration on his legs on the right side. I usually think that dogs that have that have had wooden wheels at some point but not this dog. There are no holes on the insides of his legs and ...

Selling them separately two braided candle mats/pads. The are very finely braided. The smaller of the two is 5" in diameter and it has a sewn on fringe,(about 1" missing). It is made with silk and wool fabric and lies very flat. It is very early and very nice and is probably Shaker made. Late 19th C. $65 each

A very nice child size red, white and blue checked bonnet. It has the cardboard stays that are removable so the bonnet can be washed. I like this feature because you can hang the bonnet on a peg rack so much easier without the stays. It is in good condition it just one spot at the very top of the brim...see picture. It is 13" top to bottom and 9" front to back.

I have always really liked the black bottle doll doorstops. They are something I keep more than I sell. I am offering of few of mine for sale so here is the first one. She is 13" tall, has button eyes, tear drop shaped nose with two little dots for nostril, and oval mouth that is open a little and maybe the red is for her tongue. To me she looks like she is singing her heart out while she looks to the heavens. She has embroidered ears that are priceless. She has a necklace that may have been a...

I have always really liked the black bottle doll doorstops. They are something I keep more than I sell. I am offering of few of mine for sale so here is the second one. This bottle doll with her head tipped to one side and her mouth, down turned and barely visible is wearing a red polka dot dress with a shear cap and apron. I have only had one other doll with a secret and the story goes like this. I bought the bottle doll from a picker and he was door knocking and it turns out a man had ...

This black doorstop bottle doll has a great embroidered face. The stitches are big and bold and raised. She has on a cream colored dress and a pinafore over the dress. The kerchief around her neck might have been added but the one on her head is original. She is 15" tall and is on what feels to be a double necked bottle. I don't see these bottles often but they do work really well for doorstop doll. She is circa 1890-1900

A most wonderful twisted raw wool doll with fur hair, bead eyes, defined stitched fingers, little leather shoes, lace dress with all the underpinnings, a necklace, and she is holding a purse. She has the dearest little face with a pinched nose and a tiny stitched mouth. She is a gauze bonnet that is starting to shred. She is 5" long and is circa 1870 and very special.

A very sweet early flannel rabbit with great circle eyes, red lined ears, and green fabric lettuce in her mouth. She has her original pink collar around her neck. She is plump and very firmly stuffed and has the cutest little rabbit tail. I don't think she has been played with but she does have age related discoloration to the surface of the flannel. She is a gem! C. 1880 and is 6" long by 4" tall and 4" wide.

Very tall early cloth doll with an ink drawn face and all hand sewn. She has real hair that is tied and curled so it frames her face. The ink drawn face is fragile and has been conserved with a French mesh fabric that is pretty much invisible but will make her face safe for a long time. She has on several layers of clothes with the top layer being a nice red and white calico dress. She is very solid build and is very heavy. She is a standing doll and she does that well. She is 28" tall and is Ci...

This doll was bought in the mid west and had to have been made by an older child or a mother doing the best she could with what she had. She is firmly straw stuffed. Her face is stitched with heavy thread. Her mouth is stitched with the use of many "xxx"s and it looks great. Her nose is pinched raised with overcasting thread. Her eyes are framed with red stitches and her eyes and eyebrows are brown thread. Her red bonnet is sewn on as are her clothes. She has a lace collar, green shawl that is a...

Two antique bone thread winders one in the shape of a fish and the other with to concave ends. Both measure just shy of 1 1/2". These would be nice to add to a sewing collection. Mid to late 1800's.

These sleeve protectors are hard to come by I think most of them got worn out. This is the third pair I have had in over 40 years. They are a milk chocolate color almost a butterscotch depending on the light. They are adjustable top and bottom. Unlike now when we can throw our clothes into a washer and dryer in the 1800's you wore your dress be it the church going on or the house for weeks if not months without washing. Wearing an apron or coverall and sleeve/cuff protectors were easily washed a...

This blue and white linen homespun towel is of the heavy early style. It is hemmed on three sides with the one end being the salvage. It has seen lots of use and washings and it does have some stains but it is a lovely testament of time. It is 18" by 33" and dates to the 1830-40's.

These little handmade Civil War era dolls are some of my favorite. This one has on a heavy satin dress with a brown egg wash chintz cotton petticoat. she has a net bonnet adorned with a white ribbon over real hair. She is wearing the tiniest metal eye glasses I have ever seen. She has little rolled arms and a stump body that never had legs. Her dress is melting a bit above her waist and there is a crack in the nut shell but an old one and it is hard to see because she is so small. She is 8" tal...

This is a very heavy antique cloth doll with an embroidered face. She is wearing a blue calico dress, black stockings and painted on black shoes. She has attached arms and legs so she sits easily. Her dress appears to have been on her a long time and it is soft and worn and does have holes. It is sewn on her at the neck. She feels like she could be stuffed with sand or something as heavy as sand. Her face is a old second covering and you can see some bumps on her face where there are eyebrows un...

True to the name this doll is rag stuffed simple and straight forward. Her body is two gingerbread shaped pieces of cloth, sewn together and firmly stuffed with rags. Her eyes are two old snaps sewn in place and they do the trick. Her legs have been bent so many times that she sits nicely. She has on the dress she came in. It is a soft worn red dress with with a ruffles down the front and around the neck and sleeves. She is 19" tall and is circa 1900. Something tells me that a child helped with ...

A very nice antique Punch as is Punch and Judy a famous puppet show in England. He has a leather face with painted features.(It could be oil cloth or painted fabric but it looks like leather to me.) His outfit is original and is weak and shredding in places. His face is all good other than the tip of his nose has a small break. He has attached arms and legs and is quite floppy in a nice way. He has an injured hand that someone dealt with by putting a sock over it and it seems to be working well....
